Brian Tennant, an African-American police officer with the Galloway Township Police Department, has filed a hostile work environment lawsuit against the township and police department.
Tennant claims that several police officers and dispatchers used a racial slur on multiple occasions. According to Tennant, the department did not do anything to stop the alleged racially hostile work environment until Tennant threatened to file a lawsuit.
Tennant also alleges that he was discriminated against because of his race when he was demoted from the SWAT team and when he was disciplined for using a homophobic slur despite a lack of evidence that he used the slur.
