A judge recently dismissed parts of the FBI hostile work environment and discrimination lawsuit that was filed against the agency by the head of the FBI’s operations in Washington state.

Special Agent-in-Charge Laura Laughlin claims that she was subjected to a hostile work environment and denied promotions at least 10 times since becoming the head of the FBI’s Seattle office in 2005.

While U.S. District Judge John Bates dismissed Laughlin’s hostile work environment and age discrimination claims, the judge ruled that her sex discrimination and retaliation claims can proceed.

Laughlin had previously filed a discrimination complaint in 1997 against her boss, and the FBI settled that case.
